About Us

The Golf Referees Association of Singapore (GRAS) is registered with the Registry of Societies on 20 December 2011 and is essentially a professional body for golf referees as well as those who are aspiring to become a golf referee.

Its primary objective is to complement the National Sports Association (NSA) in furthering the development of golf by setting and establishing standards and policies relating to the professional development of golf referees and the conduct of golf tournaments.

GRAS maintains the Register of Golf Referees in Singapore, administers the compulsory continuing professional education (CPE) programme and also governs and regulates the professional conduct and ethics of registered golf referees.

Its objectives are:

  • To uphold the rules of golf as adopted by the Ruling Body.
  • To serve as a body for persons concerned with and interested or involved in the conduct of golf competitions.
  • To encourage conformance among members to the Rules of Golf as adopted by the Ruling Body and the Code of Conduct as set forth by the Association.
  • To establish and provide training and developmental programmes for any persons who are interested to become a Golf Referee.
  • To establish and maintain a uniform system of conducting golf competitions together with the National Association.
  • To institute and inculcate the appropriate professional standards and attitudes of members.
  • To build and enhance the capability and competency of members.
  • To build and foster good relationships with the Ruling Body, National Association, and any other entities.
  • To support the National association in the administration of Rules Officials and/or in the conduct of any golf competitions.
